Grand Central Terminal has about 750,000 people moving about the place. And about

350,000 are customers of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The rest are visitors who linger around the terminal whether it be to use it as a hallway or a place to rest and relax. This means there is constant movement throughout the entire building. Movement is controlled by signage. there are so many different signs around the terminal which direct the flow of people. Some signs can be found deceiving at times but mostly useful. We have divided the the different signs into four categories: direction, safety and regulatory, identification and information. Our studies show the constant movement of people throughout the terminal through the use of signage.
